Who we are
Darlington Patios is a local business that does one thing: patios and the garden paving that goes with them. Our team works across Darlington, from Cockerton and Hummersknott to Haughton and Whinfield, and out to Hurworth, Middleton St George and Sadberge.
Working locally means we know what we're likely to find. The Victorian and Edwardian villas around Coniscliffe Road and Blackwell often have long, walled gardens that suit a natural stone terrace. The semis in Mowden and Harrowgate Hill frequently still have their original slabs, tipping towards the back door. And on the newer estates at West Park, the builder's patio is usually the first thing people want to replace.
What we do
- New patios: porcelain, Indian sandstone, slabs and paving and resin.
- Paths and steps to tie the patio into the rest of the garden, including steps down a sloping lawn.
- Garden walls: low walls, raised beds and retaining walls in brick or stone.
We don't take on driveways, fencing or decking, so our attention stays on the patio.
How we work
- Free site visit. We'll come and see the garden, hear what you have in mind and talk through the options, with no pressure.
- Measuring up. We measure the area, check levels against the house and the damp-proof course, and look at where water will drain. A lot of Darlington is on heavy clay, so drainage gets proper thought.
- Your quote. It's free and there's no obligation.
- Groundwork done properly. Dig out, a compacted crushed-stone sub-base, every slab bedded on full mortar and laid to a fall away from the house.
- A tidy finish. Joints filled, edges made good, the site left clear and the waste gone, with a word on when the patio's ready to use.
